Early in Tito Santana’s career, he had his first taste of WWF success in 1979 when he teamed with Ivan Putski to defeat Johnny Valiant and Jerry Valiant for the WWF Tag Team Championship. He defeated Don Muraco. Santana to become the WWF Intercontinental champion. He defeated a masked wrestler known as The Executioner in the opening match of the very first WrestleMania. And, he once again found tag team gold when he formed the popular tag team Strike Force with Rick Martel.
