Groot is a Flora colossi from Planet X, the capital of the branch worlds. He did not get along with his fellow saplings, instead preferring to celebrate the holidays with the teammates he met when he joined the Guardians of the Galaxy. These characters include Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax the Destroyer and Gamora. Following adult Groot’s death in the crashing of Ronan’s spaceship, Rocket recovered and planted pieces of his branches in a flower pot which grew into his son, Baby Groot.
