In the game, a player controls Mario, a plumber who must rescue Princess Toadstool from the evil Koopa King Bowser and his army of turtles. To reach the Princess, Mario must navigate through eight worlds, each with four levels. Along the way, he must jump over bottomless pits, dodge dangerous obstacles, and defeat various enemies.
