In 1993, Venom appeared in Venom: Lethal Protector, a six-issue comic book limited series that saw Venom make an agreement with Spider-Man that they would leave each other alone, on the condition that Venom committed no more crimes. Venom moved to San Francisco, where he battled five new offspring of the Venom Symbiote: Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony.
