Zero was created by Dr. Wily, and described as Wily’s greatest masterpiece until it was discovered that Zero contained a large flaw in his cognitive brain that made him violent and disobedient. Dr. Wily sealed Zero away in a capsule for 100 years. Zero awoke as a Maverick, a Reploid that turned against humanity. Zero became a fan favorite when he changed his ways and became a Maverick Hunter.
